Summary : The author introduces modern linguistic concepts in the cycle of the five mouvements and demonstrates the insertion of the linguage in the body. The psycho-somatic duality appears to be related to occidental thinking, whereas symbolic function in "classical" chinese is linked to the body and writing.

Key words.  Jing, Shen, Hun, Po, Yi, si, Zhi and Lu. Psychosomatic duality. Body, symbolic function and writing in "classical" Chinese.

Abstract : The China Medical College Hospital at Taichung in Taiwan was the principal venue for the Fifth EFA training programme in Asia that took place in April, 1996. The best video sequences were shown during the George Soulié de Morant Symposium in March, 1997. Phytotherapy exists in two forms, the traditional one and the modern which uses sachets divided into doses. As far as acupuncture is concerned, besides the forms of treatment for disorders of the joints (the spine, the knees), we were interested to discover that hemiplegic patients are being treated, as well as others with ear, nose and throat disorders, nose polyps, allergic rhinitis or eye problems, presbytia, post-traumatic lesions of the optic nerve or again children suffering the after-effects of encephalopathogical conditions. The development of complementary examinations making use of a computer, the analysis of the radial pulse, the examination of the longue or the measurement of the bio-potential of the skin, is very encouraging for our branch of medicine. The adaptation of modern techniques is a guarantee of the future for a traditional form of medicine.
