Abstract : The effects of two different traditional acupuncture point
combinations and a sham point were compared
in 35 healthy volunteers 20 minutes and
2
hours after a single draught of 40 % alcohol (1 ml/kg body weight). Clinical measurement,
using tests of equilibrium and orientation, and specific tests of the metabolism and elimination
of alcohol, formed the basis of this comparison.
The results are statistically significant (P <0.05). A
needle in the sham point produced no measurable effect compared to the non-acupuncture control. After both
traditional acupuncture point combinations, observing all the measured parameters, the clinical effects
of alcohol intoxication were minimised, while the
alcohol level in the expired air was increased and the blood alcohol decreased.

AIGUILLES
CHINOISES ET CICATRISATION
Dr Monique Mingam-Gourhant

Abstract : The author shows the effect of Acupuncture on the
healing of injuries : 3 patients with large or difficult to cure injuries (2),
a bedsore (1) have been treated with this method which consists in circling the
injury with several Acupuncture needles and some points described in
Traditional Chinese Medicine. In all of these 3 cases, the acceleration of the
healing process was clear, suggesting that this treatment using Chinese
Acupuncture is efficient in this type of pathology.

Quelques
éléments statistiques
Dr
Monique MINGAM - GOURHANT
Résumé
: 27 patients lombalgiques et 10 patients lombo-sciatalgiques ont été
suivis

Abstract : 27
lombalgic patients and 10 patients with lombo-sciatic problems
followed treatments during 1995, as external patients in the
department of "Médecine Physique et Réadaptation" at the hospital of Quimper. The only treatments used for these patients were
essentially acupuncture, myotherapy and sometimes aquatic physiotherapy.
The very positive results (more than 70% of patients had
good to excellent results) reveal, for these patients suffering on average
for 3,5 years, the efficiency of these therapies which are very reasonable in
cost and are without side effects in the chronic pain domain
.
